While preparing this article, I realized that no matter how I would approach this I would be stating the obvious anyway. Not to say it’s pointless. Writing anything about the irreplaceable value of women is like writing about oxygen or water. We all know they are essential but we still need to be reminded why from time to time. So no matter who you are, reader, each time you think about drinking x amount of water per day, think about the place of these women around you. They are too crucial to life on earth to be taken for granted. Might they be your mother, daughter, friend, wife, sister, teacher, lawyer, waitress, or else.
So what exactly sets the woman apart in the age we live in where lines between genders are increasingly blurred and deemed outdated? What’s left of the woman? And what’s left of us men and even women, without other women?
So without further ado, here are 10 things that wouldn’t exist without women.
I once heard a man claim that women created love to civilize men. HE’S GODDAMN RIGHT! Without love, these men would still be living like wild animals in protected areas. Women created love and love gave birth to marriage.
I know I’m lazy for this one. But well, since we’re talking about birth you know… You can do the deed all you want with your fellow men, or even explore your own self like a madman for views on Snapchat while you’re at it, but if it weren’t for women no baby would be born. Of course, without men, there wouldn’t be babies either. But men don’t give birth (I’m writing this in 2016). You gotta thank those women for that.
A woman loves to talk and comment. About other women. And men. Without gossip, there wouldn’t be celebrities, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, radio shows, late night shows, journalism, television, should I go on?
Hear me out. We invented tears that’s right. But sadness ain’t on us yo. We just found a way to deal with it. And we all know who a man goes to when he wants to cry some 😉 .
Definition: sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.
Pretty self explanatory if you read the previous one. All wounded soldiers dream about female nurses who will help them recover and believe in themselves again (yeah I asked all of them). Why? because we all need a woman to help us keep our heads up when we feel down.
6. Nude paintings.
Without the woman’s body, there would not be nude paintings. As a matter of fact, there would not be such thing as a muse, or Gustave Courbet, or a painting, or beauty, or art. The woman’s body is the single most beautiful piece of divine creation. And the number one inspiration for artists of all ages who have been endlessly trying to replicate this masterpiece in a art-imitates-life manner. And what I`ve just said is kinda arty too :-p .
7. Pick up lines.
We smell good either because we are women, and are therefore naturally inclined to scents, or because we are men trying to attract women. I mean seriously, without women, can you imagine these men putting flowers and spices smells on them to feel good? No, you can’t.
Ballet dance. Salsa. Flamenco. Waltz. African dances. Do I need to explain this one?
Please don’t even try to debate or verify this. You goddamn know we invented this poetry game. And music. And cinema.
